# Legal and regulatory FAQ

> Straightforward answers to common questions about lawful retail, customer privacy, tax boundaries, and recordkeeping.

DRX helps independent retail operators keep stock, sales, customer accounts, and balances organized. This FAQ explains the legal, regulatory, and privacy boundaries that apply to your store records.

## Lawful commercial use and retail scope

### What types of businesses can use DRX?

DRX is designed for lawful, licensed commercial retail operators. Store owners are responsible for knowing and following the commercial laws, business licensing requirements, and retail operating rules of their local, state, provincial, and national jurisdictions.

### Can DRX be used for prescription pharmacy or medical dispensing?

No. DRX is a retail business management tool. It is not healthcare software, it is not certified for electronic prescriptions, and it is not designed for HIPAA-regulated medical records. If your business dispenses regulated pharmaceuticals or provides clinical medical services, you must use certified pharmacy management software.

### Does DRX verify that my retail products are lawful?

No. You and your staff are responsible for the items you purchase, inventory, and sell. DRX records the stock counts, prices, and sales you enter; it does not review or certify your inventory for regulatory compliance.

## Tax calculations and accounting boundaries

### Does DRX calculate and remit sales tax for my business?

No. DRX applies the sales tax rates that you configure in your store settings and records the resulting figures on customer receipts. DRX is not a tax advisor, tax calculation service, or tax remittance service. Store owners remain solely responsible for calculating, collecting, reporting, and remitting all applicable municipal, state, provincial, and federal taxes.

### Are DRX summaries considered certified financial audits?

No. Reports and register summaries generated in DRX represent operational records created from staff entries. While these records help you track daily store performance and reconcile your cash drawers, they do not replace independent accounting reviews or certified financial audits.

## Customer privacy and data deletion rights

### How does DRX handle customer data deletion requests?

When a shopper asks to have their personal details removed from your store records (such as under consumer privacy laws like the CCPA or GDPR), you can remove their profile in store settings. For detailed steps on handling deletion requests while preserving required accounting logs, see [Customer data requests and legal holds](https://docs.deelrxcrm.com/privacy/data-requests-and-legal-holds.md).

### What happens when a customer record is deleted?

Personal identifiers—such as names, phone numbers, delivery addresses, and customer notes—are permanently deleted from active records. However, past financial sales receipts and register ledger totals remain recorded in anonymized form so your historical sales history and tax records remain accurate.

### Can customer records with an unpaid balance be deleted?

Automated retention cleanup automatically skips customer profiles that have an active store credit balance or an unresolved balance due. Store operators must resolve open balances before an account qualifies for automated deletion.

## Security, encryption, and third-party data rules

### Does DRX or Wrelik Brands LLC sell customer phone numbers or purchase histories?

Never. Wrelik Brands LLC has a strict zero-sale policy. We do not sell, rent, license, or share customer mobile phone numbers, purchase histories, or store records with third-party marketers or data brokers.

### How is store data protected?

All network traffic between your register devices and cloud servers is protected using TLS 1.3 encryption. Stored databases and system backups use AES-256 encryption. Sensitive details like customer contact numbers receive additional field-level protection, and each store's records are strictly isolated from all other businesses.

### How does DRX respond if law enforcement or a regulatory agency requests records?

Wrelik Brands LLC respects lawful commercial privacy. We do not volunteer store records, customer information, or transaction data without valid legal process. If served with a binding subpoena, court order, or search warrant, our designated legal counsel reviews the demand for jurisdictional authority and statutory scope before any response is made.

## Store credit and customer balances

### Is DRX a bank, lender, or credit card processor?

No. A customer store account in DRX is simply an internal bookkeeping record of what a shopper purchased on store credit, what they paid, and what they still owe your store. DRX does not extend credit, charge interest, underwrite debt, or facilitate consumer loans.
